PowerElec Nigeria 2024 got off to an exciting start at the Landmark Center in Lagos, on February 20.

On behalf of the Federal Minister of Power, Nigeria, Engr. Samuel Bem Ayengeaor, Director of the Federal Ministry of Power’s Department of Renewable and Rural Power Access, inaugurated the exhibition and conference. He discussed how the government has expanded the structure of the electricity sector in his inaugural address, emphasizing the need to make electricity accessible to a wider range of people. He also emphasized the government’s intentions to draw in additional funding to expand the power industry.

The guests were cordially welcomed by Mr. Biodun Ogunleye, the Lagos State Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, who also encouraged them to explore the many prospects in Nigeria’s energy industry.

The emphasis on the bright futures for Indian companies in the Nigerian market was largely spearheaded by the Honorable Consul General of India in Lagos, Mr. Chandramouli Kumar Kern.

At the “Powerlac Nigeria 2024” exhibition in Lagos, the Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO) highlighted the state-of-the-art developments made by 42 Indian companies in the power, solar, renewable energy, storage, and electrical sectors.

The Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers’ former chairman, Mr. Olalekan Olabode, underlined the urgent need for creative energy solutions in his nation.

Opportunities are being created for the stakeholders in the power sector by tackling issues such as T&D losses, outdated power infrastructure, power generation challenges, and the transition to new-age power, etc.
